HitTrax Hitting System

HitTrax Hitting System

One thing that sets us apart from some other Staten Island batting cages and training facilities is our state-of-the-art hitting system called HitTrax. If you’re unfamiliar with it you can check out a prior post here, and we’ll also be going into more depth with specific features in our next two posts. This post will be a general overview of what HitTrax does and what it’s used for and then we will highlight our top 5 features that we use and love.

What Is HitTrax?

HitTrax is the first reliable baseball data capture and simulation system that provides a powerful combination of performance data and fun. HitTrax tracks things like pitch speed, velocity, point of impact, and many, many others.

The system also provides real-time visual and statistical hitting and pitching data upon impact with the bat, offering immediate feedback. It measures specific metrics as exit ball velocity, distance, pitch speed, late break of pitch, strike zone analysis, and spray charts.

Basically, it takes a normal fun batting cage experience and upgrades it to one where you can really take your game to the next level. By using the stats and analytics provided to you by the HitTrax system you can get a clear idea of exactly what areas you need to improve on.

To give you some insight into the specific aspects of HitTrax we will highlight just a few of the best features that it has to offer.

 Point Of Impact Tracking

The point of impact is where all the magic happens. This is where the bat makes contact with the ball. HitTrax has a revolutionary way of tracking every aspect of it with their system. It illustrates exactly where the bat meets the ball and then calculates stats that will help you improve your game. You can also review specific sessions and analyze your performance over any time period.

Just taking a look at the picture you can see how detailed the system is. Not only does it track the basics like speed and location of every pitch, but it also lists things like exit velocity, launch angle, distance, point of impact, play outcome, and many more.

Some other data points we love are listed below, but we’ll also have an additional more specific write-up for many of these in other posts down the line.

  • Hittings Stats
  • Exit Velocity
  • Launch Angle
  • Distance
  • Point of Impact
  • Play Outcome
  • Strike Zone Analysis
  • High-Speed Video w/ integrated metrics

Additionally, another cool feature is that you can export the data and email it to yourself, so you can go back and check it out in the comfort of your own home. You won’t get feedback like this at every Staten Island batting cage. Analytics are becoming a bigger and bigger deal in sports these days, so this can be your way of staying ahead of the curve.
