Our Coaches
Private baseball and softball lessons in Staten Island
Every coach here played college or professional ball. They work with players of all ages and skill levels — first-year travel ball through college recruiting — one-on-one in our cages, with HitTrax and Rapsodo available when the numbers help.
Lessons are $75 per half-hour and $120 per hour. Five-packs are $300 half-hour and $500 hour.
Vin Aiello
Pitching · Fielding · Strength and Conditioning
Drafted by the Miami Marlins in 2017, with a 2.91 ERA across his pro career. Pitched at Oklahoma and Rider University. Vin’s lessons are built around arm strength and clean mechanics, and he handles strength and conditioning work for players who need it.
Kevin Krause
Hitting · Catching · Outfield
Drafted by Pittsburgh in 2014 out of Stony Brook, where he was a 2012 Freshman All-American and helped take the Seawolves to the College World Series. Tottenville HS grad. Kevin teaches hitting to every age group and is who you want for catching — receiving, blocking, throwing, and running a game from behind the plate.
Mike Campbell
Pitching · Hitting · Velocity · Rapsodo and HitTrax
A former Division I pitcher at Rider University before finishing at Ramapo College, where he reached the DIII College World Series. Perfect Game All-American. Rapsodo certified and trained in Driveline methodology — if you want velocity work backed by numbers instead of guesses, this is that lesson.
Burt Reynolds
Hitting · Defense · Baserunning
Twelve pro seasons, including the Seattle Mariners organization up to Double-A and two years with the St. Paul Saints, playing both outfield and third base. 134 career home runs. Burt teaches hitting with real power development behind it, plus defense and baserunning.
Matt Zguro
Pitching
Right-hander who spent four years in Iona’s bullpen — third in program history with 76 appearances, sixth all-time with 8 saves, and 117 career strikeouts. Signed with the Staten Island FerryHawks in 2025. Three-time MAAC All-Academic. Matt works with pitchers on command, secondary pitches, and getting through an inning when it isn’t going your way.
Billy Riches
Softball — Hitting, Pitching, Fielding · Catching
Head softball coach at Tottenville High School and a Tottenville grad himself. Caught at Queens College after Rowan College of Gloucester County, and played for the Staten Island Orioles. Billy runs our softball program — hitting, pitching, and fielding — and coaches catchers on the baseball side too.
Jerry Huntzinger
Catching · Hitting
A Monsignor Farrell catcher who made All-BIG EAST First Team at Seton Hall in 2021, starting all 48 games and leading the conference with 24 stolen bases, then finished up at Xavier. Signed into the Toronto Blue Jays organization and has since caught in the Atlantic League. Jerry teaches catching from the ground up — receiving, throwing, and controlling a running game.
Steve Campbell
Strength and Conditioning · Hitting · Fielding
Played at Mercy College and Ramapo College, then coached at Tottenville and Moore Catholic. Now the strength and conditioning coach at the College of Staten Island. Steve builds the athlete underneath the swing — speed, power, and staying healthy through a long season.
